Stephenson College Welcomes Truck Donation from LC Vehicle Hire

Apprentices studying Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Engineering at Stephenson College are benefitting from the donation of an IVECO HGV truck from commercial vehicle supplier, LC Vehicle Hire, providing them with valuable access to industry-standard equipment as part of their training.
The vehicle was donated to support the College's HGV Engineering provision, helping Apprentices develop practical skills and gain hands-on experience with the modern systems and technologies used across today's transport and logistics industry.
The donation will enhance learning opportunities for current and future Apprentices, allowing them to work directly on a commercial vehicle in the College’s on-site Engineering workshop, deepening their understanding of vehicle diagnostics, maintenance and repair techniques.
Troy Moore, Curriculum Head for Forklift Truck and HGV Engineering at Stephenson College, part of Loughborough College Group, said: "We are incredibly grateful to LC Vehicle Hire for this generous donation. Having access to a modern IVECO unit will give our apprentices invaluable hands-on experience and help bridge the gap between classroom learning and the realities of the workplace.
"Our students are training for careers in a fast-moving industry, and opportunities to work directly on vehicles of this standard ensure they develop the technical knowledge, confidence and practical skills that employers are looking for. We'd like to thank LC Vehicle Hire for their support and commitment to helping train the next generation of HGV engineers."
The truck was donated by LC Vehicle Hire as part of the company's ongoing commitment to supporting skills development within the sector.

The donation forms part of the College's close partnerships with employers, ensuring apprentices benefit from industry-relevant training and experience throughout their studies.
