Colourist
£14,000 - £20,000
An expert in colouring hair and, in some cases, other technical services offered in a salon, such as perming. Holds consultations with clients, and works with stylists to ensure cut and colour work together.
Hairdresser
£14,000 - £30,000
With experience you could progress to jobs like senior stylist or salon manager, or move into training or assessing. Other options include wig making, training in styling techniques, and working in the theatre, film, and television industries.
Salon Manager
£18,000 - £30,000
Manages the salon team ensuring that the salon is run in a professional manner and that all aspects of the business are kept up to date.

Experienced hair stylists can earn up to £30k per year.
