Wednesday 14th October 2026

Graduates from the Level 5 Teacher Training course celebrated well deserved qualifications last month in a joyous graduation ceremony with family, friends, and colleagues.
Recognising the achievements of the graduates, Vice Principal of Quality and Learner Experience, Lucy Howes hosted the ceremony, sharing: “This is a great opportunity to shine a light on our new graduates and highlight the hard work, dedication, and commitment it takes to qualify as a teacher whilst also juggling the demands of daily life.
“Many of our graduates today have balanced their studies with full time careers, family life, and other personal and professional commitments. We are so proud to celebrate them and wish them well on the next steps of their journeys.”
The graduation marks an important milestone for adult learners aiming to develop skills in dynamic teaching, long term learning, effective assessment, and supporting all students as they reach their potential. The Level 5 Diploma in Teaching – which is equivalent to a HND or foundation degree – follows occupational standards for Further Education and Skills teaching roles, and provides a solid foundation for a rewarding career in education.
Amongst those celebrating their success were members of Loughborough College Group’s own teaching staff, including colleagues from the GCSE English department, Games and Media, and Sixth Form. Nasnin Sulfath Nasser and Saarah Bhalwaani were two GCSE English teachers celebrating their achievements, demonstrating how they have successfully balanced their studies with their continued commitment to supporting students in the classroom.
Reflecting on her achievement, Saarah said: “I am so proud to have achieved this qualification. The support of my friends, family, and colleagues has been amazing, and I am so excited and confident for the next chapter of my teaching career!”
Their achievements highlight the value of professional development within the Group and the commitment of staff to continually strengthening their teaching practice, developing their expertise, and enhancing the learning experience for students.
