Stephenson College Motorsport Graduate Lexi Gears Up to Inspire the Next Generation

Stephenson College alumna Lexi Fells is gearing up for an exciting future in the motorsport industry, with plans to help young people follow in her footsteps and break into the world of driving.

Lexi, who recently completed her Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Motorsport at Stephenson College, is now looking to take the next step in her career by going into driving coaching – teaching children who are interested in pursuing a career in motorsport, helping them develop their skills, and providing a gateway into the exciting world of competitive driving.

Alongside her coaching ambitions, Lexi continues to pursue her own passion for motorsport. She competes in short circuit gearbox karting, driving a Modern KZ kart on smaller tracks, as well as Superkarting on larger circuits, including Silverstone.

Producing between 50 and 100 horsepower, superkarts are among the fastest forms of circuit racing, with speeds that make them the second-fastest thing to a Formula 1 car at Donington Park Racecourse.

Reflecting on her time studying at Stephenson College, Lexi is proud of what she has achieved, particularly graduating with a distinction. She credits hard work and determination as key to reaching her goals. She shared: “Never give up! It’s a lot of hard work, and you need to stick with it. It means so much when you graduate with a distinction. And aim high! You can achieve the best results if you put in that extra hour’s work, or answer an additional question on your coursework.”
