1958 - 1968

Michael Jackson was born August 29th 1958

He was number nine out of ten children

He did his some of his early perfomances in kindergarten in 1964

Michael later began performing backup vocals and dancing in a band called the Jackson brothers. At the age of eight he and brother Jemaine assumed lead vocals and the bands name was changed to the Jackson 5.The band toured the midwest from 1966 to 1968 they performed in a string of clubs know as the 'chitlin circuit'. In 1966 they won a major local talent show with renditions of Motown hits.
