DJ like a pro

Listen to some of your favourite tunes through headphones.

Try to separate out the different musical elements of each record: the drums,

the bassline, the melody. Imagine these are actual instruments played by different people.

Pick out each element in turn and follow it through the record. Listen to where it starts and stops and where it does something different. Try to ignore all the sounds on the record.

Play with your EQ controls (bass, midrange, treble) to help pick out different instruments.
