OptionsFirstSteps Full VersionThe full version of FirstSteps allows you to take full advantage of the whole package. See our Features Section to see full details of the functions available.
FirstSteps LiteFirstSteps Lite contains the core features of FirstSteps, including Registers, Fees and Planning. Features not included are the Diary, and Sage Export. The Staff Section contains the basic details but does not have all of the report available in the full version, relating to management of holidays and absence etc.
These features can be added to your FirstSteps package should you wish to enhance your system at a later stage or can be included as add-ons to your initial package.

Sage IntegrationFirstSteps can export Customer, Invoice and Payment information in a format compatible with Sage. This means if you already use Sage for your Nursery Accounts you can use FirstSteps to generate the information you need in Sage. This reduces your workload and eliminates the risk of errors associated with duplicating entries.
Network VersionDepending on the size and structure of your organisation you may need to have access to FirstSteps from a number of computers or locations. FirstSteps can be installed on a single PC or Laptop, but can also be installed on a network. If you have more than one nursery we can install separate databases on a Local Network or on a central server. FirstSteps can also be used with remote access systems such as Terminal Server or Citrix.

Annual Software SupportFirstSteps provides customer support in several forms as each customer has their own preferred method of seeking assistance when it is required.
Manual - A fully comprehensive manual is included with all versions of FirstSteps. This acts as a reference guide to all areas of FirstSteps and is supplemented with Release Notes on a regular basis to keep you up to date with all the latest enhancements.
Telephone - We have a dedicated team of Support Technicians available between 9am and 5-30pm Monday to Friday, with an emergency phone service available on Bank Holidays. As well as answering your queries our team will also guide you through any updates or configuration changes you may need to make. All calls to our helpline are at a standard national rate, and we call you at pre-appointed times to run updates to help you plan your day and not worry about the cost of the call.
E-mail - At FirstSteps we appreciate that not everybody has time to make calls during the day. You can e-mail our Support Team with questions or requests and we will respond promptly with solutions or advice.
Online - Using a programme called Dual Desk our Technicians can dial in to your computer and take control of your desktop, allowing us to quickly diagnose and rectify any problems you might be experiencing with FirstSteps. The software works through any normal internet connection and is secure, safe and swift. Many of our customers are impressed with Dual Desk and you can always see what the Technician is doing. This enables us to view your data and talk you through any queries that might need resolving.
