Mind
Mind is a mental health charity striving for better mental health for all. Their website contains up-to-date news and views about what is currently happening in the mental health sector. It was contains news about Mind in the local area and a lot of information and leaflets about different aspects of mental health.

Samaritans
Samaritans is the lifeline people can call for someone to talk to at any time. They are open 24 hours a day. 7 days a week. They have local branches throughout the country, Our local branch being in Leicester. They will talk to you on the phone if you need someone to talk to and they will never judge.

Lamp
LAMPdirect is your gateway to information on mental health throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. LAMPdirect is the community mental health site for the people in these areas. The aim of their site is to provide up-to-date information about mental health issues and to offer a broad range of information and services.

MadNotBad
MadNotBad is the realm of the mental health 'service user' and those close to them - the carer, family or friend. It contains poetry, artwork, views, experiences, a forum and a lot of information about mental health.

OCD-UK
OCD-UK is the leading charity for people who are affected by Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). It is a charity that is run by sufferers, for sufferers, and aims to bring the facts about OCD to the public and support those who suffer from OCD.

Refuge
Refuge is the site for people who suffer from domestic violence. It gives step-by-step advice on what to do if you are being abused and advice on how to find an alternative place to stay. It gives details of staying in refuges, what to expect and ways and details of help on how to build a new, violence free, life.

Quetzal Project
The Quetzal Project is an organisation which provides support for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. It began back in 1989 and now offers a range of professional support services. Quetzal now work with hundreds of women aged 16 and over in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

National Self Harm Network
The National Self Harm Network campaigns for the rights and understanding of people who self harm. They have been a survivor led organisation since 1994. Their priority is to support survivors and people who self harm. They also support people who are indirectly affected by self harm such as family and friends. People can discuss the issue and gain effective support in their online forums.

MDF The Bipolar Organisation
MDF The Bipolar Organisation is a user led chairty working to enable people affected by Bipolar Disorder / Manic Depression to take control of their lives. Their website contains separate sections for people with Bipolar Disorder, their carers, family and friends, and health professionals.

Eating Disorders Association
The Eating Disorders Association contains information and help on all aspects of eating disroders including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and related eating disorders. They have a special section for young people with eating disorders which is also written by young people. They also have a young persons message board as well as an adult message board.
